Old posters recycled into new pages
The media agency Weischer made its name in out-of-home advertising. When it came time for their first sustainability report, we devised something truly special: we recycled old posters to create new sustainability reports.
But these reports weren’t just thoughtfully designed; we also took responsibility for writing the texts, adhering to GRI standards. Fun fact: each copy is a unique piece. The sustainable sustainability report can only be borrowed, not owned, and it arrives via bicycle courier. We really paid attention to every detail.
Webseite
To ensure our sustainability report is also sustainable online, we developed a particularly energy-efficient website. The design is minimalist and features a dark mode, which helps save power. The site’s special programming further reduces electricity consumption, thereby lowering CO2 emissions.
By opting out of elaborate animations, films, images, server requests, and scripts, we’ve created a website that contributes to making the web a little more environmentally friendly.
Online banner campaign
How did we draw attention to our energy-saving website and sustainable sustainability report? We launched a sophisticated online banner campaign that precisely targeted our diverse audience groups.
We focused on various themes to capture the communications industry’s attention on sustainability topics. Whether it was design, media planning, or sustainability, we catered to our target groups’ interests with engaging banners. Naturally, this approach was accompanied by a clever targeting strategy.
Social media
We used a social media campaign on LinkedIn and Instagram to promote our sustainability report and website.
With bold statements and intriguing facts, we emphasized how the media industry can significantly contribute to greater sustainability.
This effort garnered plenty of hearts and thumbs up—not just from our followers, but from Mother Nature too.
PR
To protect the environment, we printed just 50 sustainability reports—a very small print run, but the impact was all the greater for it. All relevant industry media covered our project.
Most importantly, the topic of sustainability received even more attention.
Sustainably successful
What was the overall impact? The campaign brought increased attention to Weischer, led to a significant sales uplift, and even earned recognition at ADC Germany, where there was a positive reception to our idea. The sustainable sustainability report is now award-winning.
